Software Developer

Profile Pic

Aloha and welcome to my portfolio page! My name is Daniel Seymour, and I am a full stack software developer. During my professional career, I have worked outside the tech industry, working primarily in logistics and administration roles. Through the years, I have seen technology change the way I performed my job responsibilities. Watching these changes has increased my existing interest in software development. In 2022 I completed a full stack software developer program at The Tech Academy. During my coursework, I've had the pleasure of watching the code I wrote come to life, and I’ve been hooked ever since. With my new skillset, I am excited to start a new chapter in my professional career as a software developer!

Experience

My experience in the tech industry has been exclusive to the coursework completed during my time in a software development boot camp. Included in my coursework were two 2-week mock sprints in order to give the impression of what it’d be like in a working environment. Each sprint was done using different programming languages, different frameworks, and different IDEs. During these projects, each individual was charged with completing stories, branching and merging, as well as daily and weekly standups to discuss project progression as well as open communication on wins and struggles. The Agile/Scrum methodology was followed during these sprint sessions. Azure DevOps is the project management software that was utilized.

Web App Creation Live Project

During this sprint session, I was tasked in creating a web application with a topic of my choosing. My app was designed for a user to track what pc games they own. They also have the ability to add games to a wish list, as well as edit and remove items from their lists.

Theater Site Live Project

C# Project Photo

For this session, I worked as part of a team to create admin functions for a website that is owned by a local live theater. My portion of the project was to create and implement the production MVC using a code first Entity Framework Database. This allowed a user to create, edit, and delete entities that represented productions with data regarding a production name, playwright, run time, etc. I ensured that the layout of each CRUD page conformed to the established formatting, naming conventions, and layout per project parameters.
